Hey! So Glad You're Here.
We're a school "TED" club in Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies called GifTED. Inspired by TED's motto of "Ideas Worth Spreading", we do various activities related to TED where we can share thoughts and ideas from our diverse perspectives. Some activities are derived from our favorite TED Talks, and others are purely original. Together as a club, we hope to widen our view on our community and moreover help make the world a better place.
Through this school club blog, we want to share the experience with you! We give you sneak peeks on some of the activities we do during our sessions and our insights on the various topics that we are interested in. We hope you enjoy!

Katie Shin
Hi, my name is Katie Shin and I'm currently a student at Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies. I am interested in how different people think and see the world in various ways. I believe that every unique person is a crucial puzzle piece, and only when these puzzle pieces come together can our community unlock its entire potential. This is also why I am so compelled by TED talks. I am interested in the field of psychology and love to read and watch movies.

Junhyeok Lee
Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is Junhyeok Lee, a student of Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies. The HAFS life had me look back on my life so that I can find and set my values of life, the most significant process of my entire life. There are a lot of questions that have made me grow up such as ‘What do I study for?’, ‘What kind of person do I want to be?’, ‘What is the world I want to create and change?’. I believe that the process of trying hard to figure out the answers to the questions would lead me to a valuable life I want to live. Therefore, I decided to encounter, challenge, and undergo any problem and situation to get close to the answers.

My dream is to write and direct (successful) films as a job. Right now, my biggest goal is to study abroad for college. I love to immerse myself in movies and hip-hop. Doing a TED talk was once in my bucket-list, so I look forward to the wonderful activities I will get to do in GifTED.
